06/17/2021

Harrisburg, PA - The Department of Health will provide an update of the most recent data on COVID-19 in Pennsylvania on Monday, June 21 at noon through a press release. There will not be a data update tomorrow, June 18 as the state agencies will be closed to observe Juneteenth.

For the most up-to-date data on COVID-19, please visit the Department of Health’s website. As a reminder, through the variety of online dashboards and OpenData files, reporters and the public can find daily* updates on the latest COVID-19 cases and vaccination progress.

The following statewide and county level data can be found on the COVID-19 Dashboard:

  • Cases,
  • Number of negative tests,
  • Deaths,
  • Zip code and demographic breakdown of cases,
  • Hospitalizations – including the 14-day moving average number of hospitalized patients per day, and
  • PCR testing data.

Case and death counts of all long-term care facilities at the county level and facility level can be found here: https://www.health.pa.gov/topics/disease/coronavirus/Pages/LTCF-Data.aspx

The following statewide and county level information can be found on the COVID-19 Vaccine Dashboard:

  • Number of vaccines administered,
  • Number of fully vaccinated people,
  • Number of partially vaccinated people,

  • Demographic breakdown of vaccinations (see page 2)

Historical records of the case counts, death counts, vaccinations and hospitalizations can be found on OpenData on the following links:

Additionally, to continue to track federal data, the New York Times is reporting Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) data daily on the percentage of first doses Pennsylvania has administered and its rank among all 50 states for first doses. The CDC also is reporting data daily on the percentage of Pennsylvanians age 18 and older who are fully vaccinated as well as Pennsylvania’s rank among all 50 states for total doses administered. To find the information for Pennsylvania, under View, select People; under Show, select Fully Vaccinated; under Metric, select % of Population; and under Population, select Population > 18 Years of Age. Then hover on the image of Pennsylvania on the map.

Also, the following statewide and county level information can be found on the Early Warning Monitoring Dashboard which is updated weekly on Friday:

  • PCR percent positivity,
  • Incidence rate per 100,000 residents,
  • Newly reported confirmed cases,
  • Average daily COVID-19 specific hospitalizations, and
  • Average daily COVID-19 patients on ventilators, and percent of hospital emergency department visits due to COVID-19-like-illness.

* Please note, federal data reported by the CDC and New York Times includes Philadelphia County’s vaccination program, whereas vaccine data found on www.health.pa.gov includes the 66 counties outside of Philadelphia.  Additionally, for DOH data, the Demographics tab of the COVID-19 Vaccine Dashboard is updated weekly on Fridays, while the Vaccines by County tab is updated daily. That means, the count of people from the Vaccines by County tab will only align with the Demographics tab on Fridays.
