Harrisburg, PA – Pennsylvania State Police Commissioner Robert Evanchick has promoted Joanne R. Reed to the rank of captain and assigned her as the director of the Operational Training Division in the Bureau of Training and Education. Captain Reed most recently served as the executive officer to the deputy commissioner of staff within the Executive and Administrative Offices.
Captain Reed enlisted in the state police in 2003. Upon graduation from the Academy, she was assigned to Troop J, Embreeville. As she progressed through the ranks, Captain Reed served in Troops J, K, and B, the Bureau of Gaming Enforcement, and the Executive and Administrative Offices. She was promoted to corporal in 2007, sergeant in 2012, and lieutenant in 2016.
Captain Reed earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Rowan University and a master's degree in criminal justice administration from Villanova University.
