David A. Surra Promoted to State Police Lieutenant

Harrisburg, PA – Pennsylvania State Police Commissioner Robert Evanchick has promoted David A. Surra to the rank of lieutenant and assigned him as the criminal investigation section commander of Troop G, Hollidaysburg.

Lieutenant Surra enlisted in the state police in 2006 and was assigned to Troop F, Coudersport after graduating from the academy. As he progressed through the ranks, Lieutenant Surra also served in Troop G, Troop F, Troop E, and Troop C. He was promoted to corporal in 2013 and assigned to Troop F, Emporium. After attaining the rank of sergeant in 2016, he served in Troop E, Erie; Troop F, Emporium; and, most recently, as the criminal investigation section supervisor of Troop F, Montoursville.

Lieutenant Surra, a native of Kersey, Elk County, holds an associate degree in business administration and management from Jamestown Business College and is a graduate of the Northwestern University Center for Public Safety School of Police Staff and Command.
