Harrisburg, PA – Secretary of Administration Sharon Minnich announced today that the commonwealth has reached a one-year agreement with the Service Employees International Union Local 668. The agreement covers nearly 10,000 employees under the Governor’s jurisdiction.
“I would like to thank SEIU Local 668 President Tom Herman and his staff working cooperatively with us to achieve a contract that is responsible to taxpayers and fair to employees”, said Secretary Minnich. “The agreement allows the administration to focus on passing a budget that fixes our deficit, invests in our schools and provides property tax relief to middle-class families and seniors.”
Key provisions of the contracts include:
- No general pay increase for employees during the contract;
- No change to employer contributions to health care;
- No change to employee contributions towards their health care
- A step increase of approximately 2.25% for employees with at least one year of continuous service as of January 2016.
Negotiations with other unions whose contracts expire on June 30th are continuing.
