Harrisburg, PA - Financial institutions in Luzerne and Wyoming counties are invited to a free training on identifying red flags of elder financial exploitation and how to report suspected abuse to the appropriate state entity. The Department of Banking and Securities and the Elder Abuse Task Force of Luzerne and Wyoming Counties Elder Abuse/Protective Services will present the information.
The free training is 8:30 AM – 11:00 AM, May 13 at Misericordia University, 301 Lake Street, Dallas, PA.
This training is part of Senior$afe Training for Financial Institutions, a program offered through the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities’ Elder Financial Exploitation and Consumer Financial Protection Initiatives.
According to a recent report by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, financial institutions have reported suspicious transactions involving more than $6 billion since 2013.
