Harrisburg, PA - Pennsylvania Secretary of Banking and Securities Robin L. Wiessmann was elected as Secretary of the Conference of State Banking Supervisors, the organization announced at its annual meeting.
“I’m thankful for the opportunity to work with my state regulator peers to discuss the future of financial services for market participants and consumers,” Wiessmann said. “State regulators play an important role ensuring our institutions are operating safely and soundly and serving the needs of their communities.”
Collectively, state regulators oversee 79 percent of all U.S. banks and 23,000 nonbanks licensed at the state level. Through CSBS Vision 2020, state regulators have actively sought to streamline multi-state supervision in a coordinated, collaborative capacity without sacrificing regulatory standards.
Wiessmann also serves as a member of the Non-Depository Supervisory Committee, and the North American Securities Administrators Association Fintech Committee.
