Department of Human Services Hosting Job Fairs for Rewarding Careers Working with Pennsylvania Youth

07/22/2022

Harrisburg, PA - The Department of Human Services (DHS) is hosting a job fair at its youth development centers for open positions across DHS’ state-operated juvenile justice system. Youth Development Aides and Youth Development Aide Trainees work closely with youth served at the residential treatment facilities. Job fairs will take place at multiple sites from July 27 through August 2.

Aide Trainee positions are entry level, and multiple shift options are available. All positions include regular training and educational opportunities that can help staff grow their career with DHS’ Bureau of Juvenile Justice Services and the commonwealth.

“Our dedicated staff are vital both to the success of our youth development centers as well as the lives of youth who these facilities care for,” said Acting Secretary Meg Snead, “If you’re looking for a rewarding, supportive career that gives you the opportunity to make a tangible difference while serving youth, join our team! Your work can shape our future!”

Youth Development Aides and Youth Development Aide Trainees play a critical role in the multi-disciplinary team that provides 24/7 care to court-adjudicated youth placed at DHS’ youth development centers. Aides and Aide Trainees help develop and implement care and treatment plans for youth, helping them work through challenging circumstances and build relationships with peers and family and support them as they develop skills to help them safely return back to their communities.
