Former WABTEC and Erie Coke Employees to Connect with Employers Hiring for In-Demand Jobs During Resource and Job Fair

Erie, PA – Former employees of WABTEC and Erie Coke are invited to attend a resource and job fair sponsored the Department of Labor & Industry's Rapid Response Unit and the Dislocated Worker Transition Team, in conjunction with PA CareerLink® tomorrow, February 11 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the UE 506 Union Hall in Erie.

The job fair will feature employers recruiting for current openings, including Custom Engineering, the U.S. Census, Erie Metropolitan Transit Authority, Trinity Services Group, Precision Manufacturing Institute, Essentra, All Seasons Placement, Inc., Thayer Power and Communication and Port Erie Plasticity.

The Erie CareerLink® is holding résumé writing workshops to assist affected employees prepare for applying and interviewing with employers hiring during the job fair.

In addition, vendors at the fair will provide resources for the displaced workers, including health care vendor Community Heath Net with information on the Affordable Care Act, and assistance in obtaining affordable healthcare. Several educational providers will also be in attendance, as well as CareerLink® partners including the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation and Unemployment Compensation.
