Pat Monahan will autograph pre-purchased bottles from Save Me, San Francisco Wine Co.

Erie – The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board today announced that Erie native and lead singer of the multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning band Train Pat Monahan will sign pre-purchased bottles of wine from Save Me, San Francisco Wine Co. Thursday in Erie. The bottle signing will be held in conjunction with the grand re-opening of the Fine Wine & Good Spirits Premium Collection Store, Yorktown Centre, 2501 W. 12th St., Erie, on Thursday, Sept. 8, at 1:00 PM.

Monahan was born and raised in Erie, attending McDowell High School in Millcreek Township, and later Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. In the late 80s, Monahan began his music career singing in Erie with cover band Rogues Gallery.

Monahan moved to California in his early twenties, where he and guitarist Rob Hotchkiss began performing in coffee shops. As Jimmy Stafford (guitar), Charlie Colin (bass), and Scott Underwood (drums) joined the band, Train was formed and began performing in Los Angeles clubs. Between 1994 and 2006, Monahan released four studio albums with Train. The band first achieved popular acclaim with 2001 album Drops of Jupiter, the title song of which won a Grammy in 2002.

When Train took a break from recording and touring in 2006, Monahan began pursuing other collaborations and projects.

Save Me, San Francisco Wine Co. has won more than 200 awards for its portfolio of seven wines, which are named after Train’s most popular hit songs and albums. The wine company proudly supports Family House, a nonprofit organization providing temporary housing to families of seriously ill children receiving treatment at the University of California San Francisco Benioff Children’s Hospital.
