PHRC thanks Lincoln University & Dr. Eddie Glaude for participating in
a successful Social Justice Lecture Series event

Harrisburg, PA- The Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission (PHRC) held a Social Justice Lecture Series event featuring Dr. Eddie Glaude, Jr. at Lincoln University on March 1, 2023. The event was attended by Lincoln University students and members of the community.

"I want to thank the amazing community that came out last night to listen to Dr. Glaude," said PHRC Executive Director Chad Dion Lassiter, MSW. "I would also like to thank Dr. Brenda Allen from Lincoln University for hosting the event. Last night was a thought-provoking dialogue and my hope is that those who attended walked away questioning how we can all do better to create a beloved community."

Dr. Glaude is a New York Times Bestselling author, chair of Princeton University's Department of African American Studies, political commentator, public intellectual and passionate educator. Last night's conversation discussed the lessons from the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and the complex American experience for Black Americans.

"I want to thank the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission for inviting me to speak to the students and community at Lincoln University," said Dr. Eddie Glaude, Jr. The work the Commission does every day can be mentally and emotionally grueling, but you are putting in the work to stop injustice and discrimination. I want to also thank Lincoln University for hosting the event, it was wonderful to be at an HBCU and answer some great questions posed by your students."

PHRC partnered with Lincoln University, the nation's first degree-granting Historically Black College and University (HBCU), to bring this conversation to the community.

"Lincoln University thanks the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission for asking our university to host this event," said Dr. Brenda Allen, Lincoln University President. "Dr. Glaude's words were powerful and inspiring. I am pleased our students were able to experience him in person and I look forward to future partnerships with the PHRC."
