SPECIAL INVESTIGATOR 2
HARRISBURG, PA –
The State Ethics Commission is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented professional with an investigative background to fill a full-time Special Investigator 2 position within the Eastern Regional Office in Harrisburg. Intrastate travel is required, including occasional overnight stay.
The successful candidate is responsible for conducting detailed investigations of financial conflicts of interests and other violations of the Restricted Activities provisions. These investigations are conducted of public officials and public employees at the local, county, and state level, and the investigations may result in administrative prosecutions and penalties. Duties include interviewing witnesses, preparing detailed investigative reports, reviewing financial and other public records, reviewing social media and other sources, testifying at hearings, and other tasks related to the investigation and administrative prosecution of a violation of the Ethics Act.
A Bachelor's Degree in Criminology, Accounting, Finance or related field and three years of experience conducting or assisting with fraud, internal theft, or administrative investigations is required. Strong written and oral communication skills are needed, and experience with Microsoft Office Suite is preferred. Salary range is $56,900.00 to $70,925.00 and is commensurate with experience.
