Camp Hill, PA - Laurel Harry, superintendent of the State Correctional Institution at Camp Hill, reports the death of an inmate Carlton Madden.
On June 2, 2019, an officer making security rounds of a housing unit found Carlton Madden, 41, unconscious in his cell. Officers and prison medical staff performed CPR until Lower Allen EMS arrived. Madden was pronounced dead by Lower Allen EMS at 8:41 p.m.
The Cumberland County Coroner's Office was notified of the death and will determine the official cause of death. As a matter of policy, the Pennsylvania State Police is investigating the incident.
The inmate's next-of-kin has been notified.
