Department of Corrections Seeks Service Providers to Assist Female Reentrants

06/06/2019

Harrisburg, PA – Department of Corrections officials, in accordance with state contract purchasing policies, are seeking service providers and vendors to provide specific programming to assist female reentrants returning to six specific counties. Eligible vendors must be located in one of the six counties or in one of 25 adjacent counties. Services to be provided include cognitive-behavioral programs, intensive case management and a robust referral system to provide a holistic approach.

"Each year, more than 2,100 female inmates are released from the state prison system and we owe it to them to ensure that the programming we provide inside our fences and walls continues in the community through specific reentry services," Corrections Secretary John Wetzel said. "I encourage service providers in these areas to apply. We need as many as possible to ensure successful transformation of these individuals as they return home."

The six services areas include Dauphin, Lackawanna, Lancaster, Lehigh, Lycoming and Northampton counties with eligible providers located in the named counties or in one of the following adjacent counties: Berks, Bradford, Bucks, Carbon, Chester, Clinton, Columbia, Cumberland, Juniata, Lebanon, Luzerne, Monroe, Montgomery, Montour, Northumberland, Perry, Potter, Schuylkill, Snyder, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Tioga, Union, Wayne and Wyoming.
