Harrisburg, PA Pennsylvania First Lady Lori Shapiro  demonstrated a Shapiro family favorite recipe on the PA Preferred® Culinary Connection stage at the 108th Pennsylvania Farm Show and celebrate the best of Pennsylvania agriculture.

"In Pennsylvania, food is an important piece of our history, culture and legacy. The Pennsylvania Farm Show is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate that shared history and a chance to connect with the people who feed us and our economy every day," said First Lady Lori Shapiro. "Josh and I are proud that the Commonwealth is a national leader in Agriculture – and we will continue working to deliver the resources and support Pennsylvania's agriculture community needs in order to keep innovating and thriving."

First Lady Shapiro prepared Butternut Cheese Pie with Everything Kale Salad in one of dozens of cooking demonstrations held daily throughout the eight-day show.

PA Preferred® is the official brand for PA-grown and PA-made food, beverages, and a diverse range of agricultural products, from alpaca socks, to fine hardwood furniture, to craft brews, wine, honey, and more.

Chef Maureen Fowler of DiBruno Brothers in Philadelphia, and Chef Curt Wewer of Central PA Chef Consultants are coordinating eight days packed with competitions and demos, and directing culinary students from Pennsylvania colleges who prepare hundreds of samples of the featured recipes daily. Guests can enjoy samples after every cooking demonstration and take home a print copy of the 2024 Culinary Connection Recipe Book.

The 2024 Farm Show theme, Connecting Our Communities, celebrates the best of Pennsylvania agriculture — the industry that supports 593,000 jobs and contributes $132.5 billion to Pennsylvania's economy every year.
