MAINTENANCE WORK AT WALNUT CREEK MARINA EXTENDED UNTIL MAY 6

04/27/2022

HARRISBURG, Pa. (April 27) – The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) is alerting boaters that maintenance work on the main motorboat launch at the Walnut Creek Marina in Fairview, Erie County, has been extended by approximately one week, to Friday, May 6.

This will result in a longer closure for portions of the facility, which had been closed since April 11 and was set to reopen this week following dredging within the marina basin.  This additional construction period is required to perform extensive concrete work on the basin walls.

The rest of the access area will remain open.  Anglers may use the parking lots and fish from sections of the pier and shoreline not impacted by the construction activity.  Boaters using canoes, kayaks, and smaller boats may use the small boat launch which is located directly south of the marina basin.  This launch is shallow and does not provide access for larger boats.

The marina office and public restrooms are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.   Weather permitting, slipholders who have a current contract may move their boats in for the season on or after May 15.

Fishing licenses and launch permits are available for purchase at the marina office or on the PFBC website (Fishandboat.com).
