Bruce W. Williams Promoted to State Police Major

Harrisburg, PA – Pennsylvania State Police Commissioner Robert Evanchick has promoted Bruce W. Williams to the rank of major and assigned him as the director of the Bureau of Patrol.

Major Williams enlisted in the state police in 1994 and was assigned to Troop J, Embreeville after graduating from the academy. As he progressed through the ranks, Major Williams served in Troop J; Troop K; Troop M; Department Headquarters; and, most recently, as the commanding officer of Troop J, Lancaster. He attained the rank of corporal in 2000, sergeant in 2009, lieutenant in 2013, and captain in 2016.

Major Williams is a native of Montgomery County and is a graduate of the Northwestern University Center for Public Safety School of Police Staff and Command.
